Class Descriptions
Basic Training

Basic Training is a group circuit training class that focuses on strength, mobility, cardiovascular endurance, and body awareness.  The movements used are whole body movements that mimic the way your body moves every day. If you want a great workout with minimal soreness, then this is the class for you. This class is limited to 20 participants.

Boot Camp

Boot Camp is a higher intensity circuit training class. In this class you will use toys like battling ropes, the sledge hammer, big tires, kettlebells, etc. to challenge your physical limits and will power. Are you up for the challenge?

Typical format for Eleanor's Yoga classes:

-- Brief introduction: Settle in, slow down, set an intention for class
-- Gentle warm-up: Gradually warm up muscles and spine
-- Active standing poses, sometimes flowing, sometimes holding for longer periods: Build heat
-- Seated poses, inversions, forward bends, backbends, and twists: Stretch deeply
-- Final resting pose (savasana) and brief seated meditation: Relax on purpose and feel the effects of your practice

Comfort, steadiness, and good humor are the orders of the day! Modifications and variations for poses are always available. Questions are welcomed and assists are offered (and may be declined). If you have a blanket and/or a cushion you can bring, you will enjoy using them for support. Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in and get settled before class begins.

Yoga Basics

This is an all-levels class, open to beginners looking for an introduction to yoga and experienced practitioners looking for an opportunity to refine and move deeply into basic poses. We'll use fundamental yoga poses and sequences, breath work, and brief moments of guided meditation to release tension, build strength, and increase flexibility and balance. Classes usually include a theme for consideration and discussion, so that students are introduced to fundamental yogic themes and concepts. This class offers a moderate workout, with opportunities for the student to add more or less intensity, depending on his or her needs each class. Come ease the tensions of Monday with us!

Yoga Flow

This class is a level one/two class, open to all students looking for a moderately vigorous practice. We emphasize moving with the breath and build flowing sequences of poses, including Sun and Moon salutations and other simple flows inspired by Ashtanga Primary and Secondary series. Sometimes we flow with one breath per pose; other times we hold poses to build heat and strength and allow the body to release deeply. Each class is different, but every class includes opportunities for reflection and meditation, even as we sweat and get the heart rate going. Come work hard and then relax on purpose!

Zumba Toning*

When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba Toning
® raises the bar (or rather, toning stick). It combines targeted body-sculpting exercise and high energy cardio work with the Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a calorie-scorching, strength-training dance fitness party. This class is offered for those teenaged and up.
Meet Your Instructors
Eleanor Cole Levinson - Yoga, Yoga Basics, Yoga Flow
I have been a yoga student and practitioner since 1998.  Before that, I was an athlete and a fitness instructor with the aches, pains, and injuries that came with over-training and pushing my body beyond its limits.  When I found yoga I discovered that building strength, flexibility, and balance does not have to hurt.  Yoga taught me to tune in to what is happening in my body, with my breath, and in my mind.  In tuning in, I found health and ease, and as my own practice and study continue, I realize I am most happy when on my mat!  I completed Yoga Teacher Training with Ti Harmony and am honored to be able to share yoga with students of all levels.
